Place Of Peace
Doongalla
At Doongalla Counselling, Kate recognises that reaching out for support can feel uncomfortable and at times scary. She also understands that emotional and relational safety is essential for growth and healing to occur within therapy. It is her aim, therefore, to create a place where you can feel secure to explore your life experiences, relationships, needs and goals.
Doongalla, an indigenous word commonly believed to mean “place of peace”, was chosen to reflect the purpose of this counselling practice. It is Kate’s hope that you experience peace at Doongalla’s therapy rooms, and that this peace would increasingly become your internal experience as you move into healing and wholeness.
“If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive.”
